Fender Lite Rosewood Telecaster Telebration Series Limited 60th Anniversary Guitar
Fender Lite Rosewood Telecaster
On its 1951 introduction, the Telecaster was a revolutionary instrument that would usher in whole new eras of musical innovation and excitement.
Sixty years later, in 2011, it is an archetypal electric guitar with a long and storied history.
The rich history of Fender guitars begins with the Telecaster, and Fender's celebrating its 60th anniversary all year with 12 very special "Tele-bration" models that stay inside the Telecaster's famously elegant lines while offering the finest and most unusual takes on the instrument's past, present and future.
Fender experimented with a rosewood Telecaster design in the late 1960s. A very few of the exceptionally heavy guitars were produced, most famously the one played by George Harrison at the Beatles' famed "rooftop concert" of Jan. 30, 1969, in London.
The new Lite Rosewood Telecaster evokes that elusive instrument and greatly lightens the weight by sandwiching a dark-stained spruce body core between a rosewood top and back.
